Get Rid Of The Advertisements

On the Road Again

the day dawned with light rain gently falling

I loaded my motorcycle panniers, checked my wet weather gear,

backed my trusty motorcycle out of the garage for the last time.

No-one was there to see me leave, neighbours all gone to work.

My wife, she had gone to work and out of my life.

It was a time that I had never felt quite so alone.

One last check that I had everything then I posted

the keys to what had been my home through the letter-box.

Riding up the road out of the estate in the rain,

I fought back the tears that came from separation after 17 years.

My bike kept me safe, back on the road again

I remembered how much I enjoyed riding motorcycles.

On the most difficult day of my life she and other forces kept me safe

even managed to put a smile on my face as the rain slowly eased.

I had no idea what the future held on that day back in 1988

But I survived it and here I am now many years later,

I still love my motorcycling and I am content and happy.

On the road of life, many twists and turns and ups and downs

but....hey!! I'm still here..
