Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Direction to Smile

I'm writing a play
as I've had an idea,
a drama for children
with a message that's clear.

Such gloom in this old world,
children robbed of their joy.
I want them all smiling
and this script I'll employ.

I'm not good with music
but the play needs a song.
I've written the lyric,
the whole cast sing along.

Deb...can you help me?
A good rhythm...you'll strike it.
Through the song they must smile,
' Try it, you might like it.'

I don't aim for Broadway,
maybe just a wee hall.
They will all come out smiling,
what a great curtain call.
