Ring True

The setting sun turned the plain a burnt yellow skin.
I recall sundown was for party, be party for the win.
I recall sundown was for meeting, a meeting I must bear.
This victory was hollow, and for what it cost I deeply care.

Sundown for the glory of Allah, rather this than what it be.
Looking back now the waste of blood, money, life is what I see.
The course of a destiny then, is lost in sundowns' heat warp.
For what we fought cannot be bought this lesson we were taught.

I think I thought correctly, as my God my Lord would have me do.
I bare my soul for deeds I've done, to be judged I stand in queue.
Think our worlds different, if you lived then you have done so too.
Circumstances settings not, it's your actions that speak, ring true.

'if you lived then you have done so'
