the grizzly family

once upon the time, up the road from where i lived.
there was a family of bears, called the grizzly family
They usually kept to themselves, unless baby bear
decided to roam off, landing on my balcony

she loved meddling through my flowers pots, digging in the dirt.
leaving everything in turmoil.
with grizzly appetite, ate the barbecue foil
even took a dip in the out door pool

oh but then, mama and papa Grizzly came looking
for baby bear, with no smiles, or friendly greeting
they both came up the walk. not to happy, worn out and mean.

i hid behind the rose bush, trying to miss the pricker bushes.
leaning down so not to be seen, hoping they would go their way
so i could get on with completing my day.

finally baby bear seen mom and dad,
jumped from balcony, face was glad
now wore a smile, as he led the way home

not having to walk alone.

always nice to have them visit, but always better
when they leave, so i can clean up another mess
from the grizzly family, i must confess.
