Where You Are

Motionless but for breathing, I hear my own heartbeat.
Echoes of times that pasted, in my mind again repeat.
All about seems so strange, quiet and unmoving.
Stranger yet the cloak it brings, warm, soothing.

Silent as the forest path, in the filtered morning light.
Awesome as the starry sky, when lying still at night.
It has always been the way I went, to be the way I go.
This was done without regret, in the only way I know.

Alas the forest is not empty and the nght sky is not clear.
There no stars to guide me, I trod this path without fear.
Thoughts stir and they conjure, what it is that I will see.
Lifes' contortions on the path, dictate what is that I'll be.

Stop, smell the roses, look up, make a wish upon a star.
All about in your life space, know exactly where you are.
