Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Long gone are my opinions
They did not pay my rent
As I aged I learnt something...
My time was better spent

Less rage to fill the papers
Less souls that caused me pain
Free to smile and see the world
Through coloured eyes again

Heavy weights lifted from my heart
No harsh words left to spill
Suddenly the world's my oyster
And I have free time to kill

The old me is deep and buried
The new me, fresh and free
When I stare into the mirror
Relief is what I see

In my (let's be honest) many years
All of a sudden, I feel first born
As if the steps I take today
Are the first shoes I have worn

Long gone are my opinions
For they only made me weak
And the truth I've always yearned for
Is valued less, than words I speak
