Out of Touch

Out of Touch

Once again here I am
Sure I saw it happen
Or heard it I should say
From a distance like always
That’s where he’s always stayed
From childhood to this moment
There but so out of touch
The customary conversation
Like a record skip replays
And though I saw it happen
Over and over again
Disappointments' depths grow
High hopes crashing down
Expectations rise to fall
Until once again here I am
Left to question the lack
Of much of a relationship at all
