Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Worthy of The Ink

I saw it happen somewhere in a dream,
waking disturbed to write down thoughts while fresh.
Dreamed that I scrawled four pens and a whole ream,
all muscle cramped, fingers of painful flesh.

Compelled to write, recording nightmare thoughts.
I saw it happen somewhere in a dream.
Characters clear, the plot with action fraught,
and punctuated oft' with chilling scream.

Fam'ly intrigue with murder as its theme,
was it the butler or the downstairs maid ?
I saw it happen somewhere in a dream,
crime done by one from straight and narrow strayed.

Knowing quite well my publisher will think...
imagination stretched to the extreme.
But still he'll see it worthy of the ink.
I saw it happen somewhere in a dream.
