Get Rid Of The Advertisements

LOOKING FOR A PLACE

My words are looking for a place
That they have never been.
The story wants adventure
And each phrase just needs and end.

The adjectives are lazy
And they want descriptive views...
Of what those nouns are doing
Sitting idle in the pews.

The sentences that are complex
Try twisting very slow,
And the verbs just want to run away
As fast as they can go.

The action gets remembered
As a play that often lies,
While the audience is awfully bored...
And you can hear their sighs.

So I guess I'll keep on searching
For a place my words can rest...
Before they are dismembered
By erasers on my desk.
