Get Rid Of The Advertisements

My Family Gift

For each a book I made, containing words
penned solely, wholly for them, from my heart,
amassed throughout the years about themselves
with all the love my meagre words impart.

My sons, my daughter, their beloved spouses,
their children (ten), my joy and fervent passion.
Adventures, observations, hopes and prayers,
the best I had to offer, in my fashion.

I sat amongst them, wheelchair in the midst,
instructed them to open, all as one.
Unwrapped, they saw bright covers and exclaimed
then not a word 'til half an hour was done.

Occasionally issued forth a giggle,
All shed a tear and tissues passed around,
I sat, watching their dear delighted faces
in that place where family love and faith abound.

So pleased I'd yielded to that inspiration...
from the outcome, lots of hugs and much elation.
