RED ROSES FOR A BLUE LADY

A song was written for a girl,
Whose countenance was sad.
Some red red roses for this lass,
So down and blue...not glad.

She'd said some words to her betrothed
That now she wished she'd not.
With tears of sadness sat she down
Beside the bedside cot.

Too quickly she had lost control
Of what she'd MEANT to say...
And now her lover's left and gone
On this their wedding day.
