Bubbling Over

Somewhere from memories of yesterday,
a clear recollection comes into play.
A red headed child, temperament unmatched.
I shudder to think of schemes she once hatched.

Her cheeky high jinks 'oft turned the household
inside out. They were impish, they were bold.
One summer morning while blowing bubbles
with mother an idea brewed. Troubles!

The swimming pool inviting, beckoned her.
A bubble bath for a little schemer.
Into the pool she jumped, bubbles in tow.
The water flowed, the bubbles churned, oh no!

I knew her well this spirited red head,
in truth there is nothing left to be said,
except that my hair still bears hints of red.
