True Vision

True Vision
(a tribute to Mom and Dad)

I reflect upon the life Iíve led,
The roads traveled, words unsaid.
Imagination guiding my steps
Upon the paths Iíll never forget.
A shadowed world is all I knew,
A world reflected in blurry hue.
I shudder to think of who Iíd be
If not for the parents given me.
Blindness meant nothing at all!
I must follow my heart and spiritís call.
I was taught that I could achieve
My dreams if I but believed .
I was not different at all, you see....
I but did things differently.
I remember the faith they had in me
And,yes, I shudder to think where Iíd be
If not for the guidance received
By my parents who in me believed.
I know I was blessed. I know I was loved
As I look to Heaven up above.
Thank you Mom and Dad for teaching me
That I could be whoever I wanted to be
And that true vision had little to do with sight...
It had everything to do with the spiritís guiding light.
