A herd of gray clouds came galloping|
Out across an even grayer sky.
Plump raindrops pummeled
My window panes.
Songbirds disappeared from sight.
Long tree branches swayed eerily.
This was the storm of all storms,
The rain of all rains.
Ah, but when the storm died down
The sky became bluer than blue.
Bright colors arched overhead.
The rainbow...peace renewed.
The grand arbor stood tall.
My roses smiled in the sunshine.
Sweet William and Daisy danced,
And the four-o-clocks appeared at two.
Forget-me-nots and alyssum whispered.
So happy the storm has passed.
Spring at last...
