Balsam Hollow Trail

;

(slow ...a capella)
Somedays when gone a~wandering to an old idyllic tender tale
To be wrapped up in a memory .... on the old Balsam Hollow Trail

Verse (music begins folk tempo)
Keen impressions... sewn ideals ...like sturdy threads in perfect seams
Plied on a bridge of womanhood ... there was stitched a quilt of dreams
Gathered rays of crystalline.... beside a fern and flower show
And holding to sing hymns and song.... gazing at the brook below

Verse
As thoughts then circled like the ripples ...formed by pebbles all released
And fell into the glassy water pools ... framed by the deep of forest green
His caring hands lay opened wide... holding stones with names inscribed
What was dropped and caught was covered... with gifts of refuge there inside

Chorus
Somedays when gone a~wandering to an old idyllic tender tale
Then wrap up in a memory .... on the old Balsam Hollow Trail

Verse
Every now and then life returns ... to Green Gables window glass
To see that place in vast imagination ...and stroll through sweeping meadow grass
Where chaff is winnowed from the grain... blown east and west like many choices
and pleasant words from friends of mine ... sang lovely songs with happy voices

Chorus
Leaning on a velvet weathered jacket ... cushioning a slab of shale
(slower ...a capella)
Somedays are taken back in time .... to the old Balsam Hollow Trail

(Tag with music)
Somedays when gone a~wandering to an old idyllic tender tale
Wrap up in songs and hymns for memories .... on the old Balsam Hollow Trail
