WHERE WERE MY HANDS?

Upon waking I found myself in a strange place.
A place so old it seemed to exist outside of time.
Here, were triangular beds of flowers flush with
Purple and red spots and leaves a mottled grey.

Beyond them was a pond of incredible blackness,
Over arched with ancient oak trees.
If only I could see beyond those giant trees...
But then, maybe I wouldn't WANT to see what was there!

A northerly breeze brushed the hair from my eyes
And I felt the grapple of a winter chill coming on.
Retracing my steps I headed in the direction
Of what I hoped would lead me home.

How had I gotten here anyway?
And where WERE.....my hands?
