Old Man Winter I Hear You Knocking KKD

Old Man Winter
I Hear You Knocking

Sitting on my porch
This early September morning
There is a chill in the air
You know Winter is knocking

Without turning color
Some leaves begin to fall
Summer is rapidly fading
As Winter starts its call

I know it is the order
In which life does flow
But how I hate to see
The warmth of Summer go

I know it wont be long
Before snow will cover the ground
The green grass and flowers
No where to be found

Too rapidly is approaching
The season that we gather
Where all living things
Prepare for the cold Winter

The season of heavy coats
Boots and woolen stockings
Yes Old Man Winter
I do hear you knocking

ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
