Family Is The Core

Family Is The Core

Sitting around the dinner table
We'd share our thoughts of the day
Spoke of the where's, why's and how's
We kept things in perspective that way

Those things have become lost in time
Rushing here and rushing over there
We rarely have time for a brief hello
Much less, to convey we care

On the way home one starlit night
My mind wandered back to the past
If I had it all to do over again
I'd say slow down, 'not so fast'

There are many important things in life
But the one thing constant, evermore
Is when it is all said and done
Family is 'the core'
