Bittersweet Melodies

Bittersweet Melodies

October morning
Blue skies above chilling winds
And autumnís music

She listens to the windís sweet music
And wishes she knew the prose
Set to song in perfect melody
In the tune the Creator chose.
Falling leaves are holding memories
Of days gone byÖ of those better days,
Before the sadness crept into her life,
Back when leaves seemed to dance and play.
Brittle were the leaves that fell
And taken into the October sky
But yet joyous they were as they flew
Not asking what, when, or why.
Oh, the memories that linger,
The thoughts that remember
Those beautiful days
Before November.
She hears the songs again,
Such bittersweet melodies...
An echo of what use to be
In falling leaves holding memories.

October morning
Blue skies above chilling winds
And autumnís music

A variation of a haibun written for the Simplicity challenge
Host: Hhazlett (Heather)
Phrase: falling leaves are holding memories
