Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Awaiting dawn

Oh, I fear
that these walkways cutting deep
through a lush cornfield,
now swaying indolently
along with the gentle breeze
under a robust shining sun,
may also lead me down
the path to a mellow moon
under the silent skies.

Wary I am of good times,
of bright colors and sunshine
of high hopes and big dreams
of fast living by selfish means,
for dews never shine in twilight grey
hopes fall and dreams perish,
that coming times may say
the bemoaning days are on the way.
