A SWEET BOUQUET

One pristine night so long ago
With quiet echoes soft and low,
A tiny babe was born.
The subject of these words will show
Their clear and fluent thoughts aglow,
What joy upon that morn!

No murky waters to fortel
Enticements of a wishing well...
This child whose wants were few.
He could not tolerate or sell
His soul for aught...no, it was well,
A plan was made for you!

This infant on a bed of hay
Was heaven's precious sweet bouquet,
A Rose with royal claim.
I bow to worship as I pray
To herald Jesus' birth this day...
So grateful that He came!
