Write I Penned

I looked around the autumn sky, and saw a scoffing sun.
It cast the last golden rays of light, another day was done.
A surprise lay unopened in the coming dark of this new night.
Its closed, non-self-intersecting curve, embedded oh so tight.

In three dimensions it cannot be untangled, set straight.
A taste of bitterness, excruciating, as I ponder the wait.
About to snap, my self indulgent curiousity at its end.
Sat, thought of ramifications, hence this write I penned.
