BY NEED ABIDE

BY NEED ABIDE

Scattered dreams, collecting dust,
Of memories lost, moments stilled,
In a heart left empty
And a soul once filled.
And yet within me they by need still abide
Though I try to run, try to hide.
It seems they follow me and will not leave.
They are meant to stay I now believe.
I wonder why they will not fly...
These dreams of then, way back when.
Instead they are content collecting dust
And to trust in them I feel I must.
Yes, they are scattered
And some are shattered.
I still try to run, try to hide,
But within me I know by need they will always abide.
Memories lost and moments stilled
In a heart now open
And a soul now filled.
