Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Unwanted Journey

Every morning she rises up to face
The empty chair where he used to be
It so quiet now, no 'Good morning dear'
No 'Come and sit a while with me'

Breakfast time is no longer the same
As he is not patiently waiting
For her to bring him bacon and eggs
Or the morning surprise she is baking

At night she wanders off to her bed
Touches the place where he used to lie
Wishing she could embrace him just once more
From deep inside escapes a cry

Each day is harder than the day before
The time turns to months of tears
What keeps her moving on thru her grief
Memories of their many, loving years

To all of those who have lost their loves
Today I say a prayer for you
Grief is a journey no one wants to take
I pray God will help you thru
