Get Rid Of The Advertisements

His Angel Of Light

Nobody ever bothered to tell him
life didn't have to be this way.
You knew the man was asking for help
by everything he'd do and say.

But his pleas all went unnoticed
by any one he came near.
They all just turned and walked away,
to him they had deaf ears.

Another night he spent alone
in a dumpster outside the door.
He tried to stay dry any way that he could
from the rain that started to pour.

Morning would come, he was tired and cold,
sleep once again had passed him by.
His stomach was empty, he hadn't eaten in days,
then this poor man started to cry.

He got on his knees right there in the trash
and prayed while looking up to the sky.
He wanted to know if any one would care
if today he would live or die.

Then he felt someone tug on his shirt,
and he helped him up to his feet.
He led him inside, gave him some coffee,
and a hot bowl of soup to eat.

He wanted to say thank you to this kind stranger
but in a moment he vanished from sight.
He knew then that his prayer was definitely answered,
that the stranger was an angel of light.

If today you should see the homeless,
please don't just turn and walk away.
It doesn't take much to help someone else
live a better life today.
