Morning Solitude

As I delight in mornings stillness
at the beginning of each new day
Before my family and the world come to life

I watch the sky of darkness
turn from black to shades of pink
Hearing morning birds sing songs of pure delight

The peace of early morning
Is a quietness for my soul
A time to pray and thank the Lord above

For His painting in the morning sky
and birds that sing a delightful song
But mostly I thank Him for His love
