Get Rid Of The Advertisements

A SMALL LEAK

All through my youth,
I heard that a man
Must avoid crying
Whenever he can.

Often, I managed
To hold back tears
And, it became easier
Through the years.

What I didnít know
And never did guess
Was that I hadnít yet
Known sufficient distress.

One day, pain in my heart
Choked so I couldnít speak
And, I found my eyes
Had then begun to leak.

Afterward, I found
Sights or some memories
Had the power to
Force tears out of me.

Unknown in youth
Was unbearable loss,
Nor had I yet paid
A heart-shattering cost.

Sometimes, a leak happens
But, unlike before,
I now believe some things
Are worth crying for.
