April's Flowers

Petals of daisies waiving sweetly
Beckon me to come and play.
Roses perfumed and lovely,
Plead with me to stay.

Lilacs all gowned in lavender
Break down my defenses.
Trillium and daffodils
Cuddle up to tattered fences.

Wildflowers grace the meadows.
What loveliness they bring.
April sends her finest flowers
To play my heart strings.

And like a barefoot child at play,
I savor many delightful hours.
As I stroll down a country lane,
To greet April's flowers.
