My World

~~~~~~~
My world holds no mystery now.
No secrets do I keep.
My heart travels to the Countryside
Where meadows are lush and deep.
It's there I gathered bright bouquets
Lovely fern frond embroideries.
While golden sunbeams softly streamed
Through a veil of lace edged filigrees.
I lingered on to watch the sunset sky
A painted canvas filled with wonder.
The vale of contentment I found there
In my heart of hearts still lingers.
Today, I see this all in my minds eye.
Memory can be a delightful thing.
I've advanced to my golden years.
To reminisce like this makes my heart sing.
And through these dimming eyes of mine.
I see a world of chaos and of sorrow.
I fear for the children with no meadows
The children of tomorrow...
