You Are My Light
Stars connect across the dark expanse|
Poles apart their pinholes of light burn
And uncoil at that moment perchance
To enter each other's dark nocturne
And, flood themselves with each other's light;
It's to that glowing central vortex
A single soul spent in that cortex
More precious than gold we expedite
To find a flower of consciousness.
A seed of breath that extrapolates
Gives meaning to this ungodliness,
Love, it laughs and, it annihilates
All that darkness in its warm embrace
I reflect that we've aligned our love
This-we've shared; I've seen it on your face
All the love, fire, smoke seen above.
Our starlight now skips the universe
Can't be depleted, stopped in pursuit
Aim always fixed not to be dispersed.
Not combined can the rest constitute?
As much light as we too can tonight
My darling, combined you are my light.
