Once Upon a Dream

For the fourth night in a row I canít unwind! Iím engaged in a toss and turn daze trying to find sleep. Nagging thoughts linger: haunting attitudes enrich their hold, each persistently bolder! Gingerly I scout my way through the maze of words, corralling some, trying to untie their hold on my subconscious! I drift off..into a recurring dream. Itís the night of my class play. Iím Cinderella, waiting in the wings for my cue. Prince Charming is on stage! (I saw, with great clarity, there was not an empty seat in the house.) Suddenly the Prince is jigging about like Rumpelestiltskin. Itís like watching a movie, frame by frantic frame, as he leaps and dives through the air like a bird! The audience looks on, dumbfounded! Without warning he clears the orchestra pit and disappears.

A bright light ~~~~~~~ the sun ~~~~~~ Iím awake!

positioned in sleep
a recurring dream plays on
betrayed by the dawn
