Strolling Memory Lane

When as a kid
a little girl
I loved to play
with dolls
but, at times
if I were bored
I'd scribble
on the walls
~ ~ ~ ~
Playing jacks
and reading books
singing happy tunes
skipped to school
with classmate
yes,
memories fond and true
~ ~ ~ ~
At the park
I loved to swing
pushed self way up high
a tickle in my belly
as I reached for
sky
~ ~ ~ ~
I played with younger
siblings
we always had a ball
Cotton-candy
on a stick
climbed the
trees so tall
~ ~ ~ ~
Hide and Seek
and Simon Says
are games I
can recall
kick the can
and marbles
enjoyed
the first snowfall
~ ~ ~ ~
Softball, baseball
hopscotch in the street
jumping rope...
double dutch
Ole-Ole Oxen Free
~ ~ ~ ~
The child within
remembers
how life was so
carefree
I'll treasure those moments,
always
they’re memories
made for me
