Its Budding Light

ITS BUDDING LIGHT

I often think back to the night we met,
That night you stole my heart.
You approached my sister and I
To apologize for what was not your fault.
What a gentleman you were
As you walked us to our car,
Making sure we were not bothered.
I learned that was just who you are.
You held my hand and said you’d call
And I felt in you I could fall.
On our first date we laughed and talked,
A connection was felt,
And love was sparked.
You brought me home and how we smiled
When we said goodnight.
The night was lit with love’s budding light.
When we kissed I felt your heart,
And I knew that our journey was about to start.
Never will I regret going out with my sister that night
Because it let me find you...
You who helped heal me,
You who accepted my blindness,
You who helped me feel again,
You who loved me just as I am.
And even though you are in Heaven now
I feel this moment every day...
And remember that first kiss on an unexpected night....
When we knew love had let us see its budding light.
