Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Quiet Desperation

Lord, where have you been?
In my heart or in my throat?
Or the flowers of my coat?
Why do I hurt so much inside?

I want to believe you love me, Lord
As people say you do,
I donít know how to reach you though
So Iím sitting in this pew,
Lighting candles in the darkness
And waiting here for you.

I only hope youíll hear me
And my prayers that are so new,
Because I really need to feel your love
Tonightóto get me through.

My heartís now swelling in my chest
And I am crying too,
Is this the way you work, dear Lord?
Is this me, loving you?

I feel my heart relieved of pain
My burdens lifted tooó
Iím a calmer, richer, loving self
And I owe this all to you

Iím getting awfully tired, Lord
So Iím going to let you be,
I thank you though for being here.
And againÖfor loving me.
