Get Rid Of The Advertisements

The Invitation

Your telling me
That youíre going to leave this world
And youíre telling me
That you want me to come somehow?
Well, I say, ďNo! my friend,
My dear sweet friend,
Thatís just not my way.'

'Iím not one for making the rain
Fall on your face,
Thatís not my way...
And Iím not one
For making the night sky
Blacker than it should be,
Because thatís just not my way.'

'I love this life, Godís life
Pulsing through my veins,
So, I try to make the sun shine bright
From everyone, every day
If I can, my friend.
Thatís my way!'

'Iíd even give my soul
To bring the stars back to YOUR eyesÖ
If I could my friend,
Because thatís my way.'

'You know Iím not averse to dying
But this whole world is laying before me,
And I WANT TO LIVE this life
The very time that life is calling,
Because my friend...
My dear sweet friend...
Thatís MY way!'

For the No Frills Challenge

This poem was inspired by all the peer pressure on teens today to participate in suicide packs as a way of coping with life. My great-niece was getting pressured to do this. She has been very troubled and suicidal, thank God she did not give in to temptation and is getting help!
