Mother.

So rare the strains of beauty
That encapsulate a song
So gentle is your morning light
That helps us all belong,
No poem was ever written
That could take you to its heart
For a mother’s dreams give always
To a bright and shining start.

So patiently your shining eyes
Warm the depths of all our hearts
So hush filled every word from you
You calm our endings, and our starts,
Between each morning and each night
Your peaceful soul keeps us from harm
Your soft lullaby’s and gentle prayers
Fill all of us with steadfast calm.

So many times life weighs on you
When all of us you still defend
Yet in dark times it never shows
How much on you we all depend,
A Mother can bear so many things
Her love can hold much more
Although she feels so far away
She is an ever open door…
