Seeking Solace

tall and regal stand the cattails, silhouettes against the setting sun
a lone duck's flutter of wings breaks the utter stillness 'round the pond

arcadian are melodies played by an orchestra of crickets, loons and frogs
feathery sawgrass sways in the moonlight, six turtles head to tail on a log
heavily scented with fragrance of water lilies, can't see the air for the fog
pretty fireflies hovering near the shore are amusing to my old hound dog

seeking solace from my daily existance, sitting around a warm campfire
to be at one with Mother Nature is something so real I've found I desire
