Get Rid Of The Advertisements

All Of Yesteryear

~~~~~
How I miss those family gatherings.
A seasonal wreath upon the door.
We used to do this every holiday,
We don't anymore.
Easter brings new promise.
More greeting cards to display.
Fond wishes for the renewed season,
But they're all so far away.
The Thanksgiving ritual
Has become just a memory
Birthdays, photos, more greeting cards
All shared generously.
And spring becomes the summer,
The months become the years.
I busy myself with trivial things.
No one is bothered by my tears.
When winter settles in again
I'll have time to reminisce,
To remember all of yesteryear
And the ones I dearly miss.
