My Tears

MY TEARS

clouds holding teardrops
until time is right to fall
shedding memories

I think often of those times
When the happiness held within my heart
Was written in the sweetest rhyme
Even when I was falling short
I think too of the moments
When sadness
Demanded its place
And I submitted my heart to it
As tears coursed down my face
I remember when I learned I needed to cry
And needed to breathe
For by doing so I allowed myself to believe
That one day I would know
That the tears meant I was letting go
Of pain and hurt that ruled my soul
And again one day I would be whole
Yes one day I would know
That clouds held my tears
My memories and my fears
One day I would see
That those tears were meant to be

clouds holding teardrops
until time is right to fall
shedding memories

a variation of a haibun written for the Simplicity challenge
