Courage of the Heart

Of careless tongues that speak of war,
rife with rhetoric: ‘tis their way,
For goodness sake, war not our wish;
Stop the bellicose ranting I say!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Waves breaking the only sound,
As she stands watch, her eyes and ears alert,
A hot 3 a.m. breeze wends across the bow,
flys out to sea....it’s freedom to assert.
North south east and west, danger lurks in all,
It weighs upon the nerves with measured force,
But a sailor's unvoiced pride in courage shows.
She chose to serve, ‘twas in her heart of course.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of careless tongues that speak of war,
rife with rhetoric: ‘tis not the way,
Better a song of peace for all the world,
for once think....just think..
