Hourglass Memories

Come walk along with me today,
Follow my quiet reflections,
As they wend through the sands of time,
To a time of great affection.

Family picnics, soft gentle waves,
String hammocks and beach umbrellas,
Children having fun at the beach,
Young girls flirting with their fellas,

Sailboats, the sand between my toes,
The beautiful wind song calling,
Sun block painted on my nose,
The mew call of seagulls, haunting.

Then just before the sun goes down,
Godís masterpiece of colors glow,
These things, my cherished memories,
Some of the best times Iíll ever know.
