The child and the robin.
 

A star shone through the window
Like the one from long ago,
As the garden glittered quietly
With diamond tinted snow,
A heaven moulded garden
That sleeps behind its gate,
And on the gate, a robin sat
To sing his serenade,
To send the day upon its way
Before the twilight’s fade.

And the child sat in her bedroom
Facing out towards the night,
Although her eyes were sleepy
Her soul shone with Christmas light,
A heaven moulded garden
Seems so much more than a dream
For the twilight seemed benevolent
As she heard the robin sing,
And it made her feel so hopeful
For all those things the seasons bring…
