THE GIFT OF ANOTHER DAY

Itís five in the morning and the World sleeps
Only the sound of the incoming tide
Breaks the silence
High above the seagulls soar
As just my dog and I
Greet the day

The air is warm although itís Autumn
A gentle breeze touches my cheek
Like an angelís kiss
I take in the beauty that surrounds me
And looking to the heavens
I give thanks for another day
