Glimmer In His Eyes

I watched him as he walked away from my side
With his posture his walk had a different stride
Not moving fast, much slower in his pace
Then when he stopped and turned, I could see his face

Slowly he started walking back to me
Rubbing his hands together so gingerly
Standing before me he relaxed his stance
Took me in his arms as we started to dance

When I looked up I saw a glimmer in his eyes
With a soft spoken voice he said 'You are my prize
I'll love you forever, you know this is true
Would you be my wife, I want to marry you'

I'm sure he could see the anticipation in me
That wasn't what I thought his question would be
As he pulled me close I looked into his eyes
'Yes, for you too dear are my life prize'.
