KEEPSAKE LOCKET

I have a keepsake locket...
And wear it every day.
It stays so close to my own heart
And it is there to stay.

Inside it holds a photograph,
Of one who is no more.
I cry for him and miss him so...
He's on a different shore.

His life was short on mortal sands
And yet it meant so much...
To those who knew and loved him here,
We miss his gentle touch.

We know he's in a better place
And that helps us to wait....
Until we see his face again
Within the golden gates!
