Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Digital Quicksand

I sit alone contemplating
What is missing in this land?
I desperately try to remember
A time before digital quicksand

I try to meditate
And try to recapture
Some sense of reality
Of a life unfractured

When I look around
I see numb empty faces
The world is waiting to die
And this apathy is so suffocating

Is anyone breathing?

A slow decay of my mind
I've searched the world
For someone with answers
To questions that are plaguing me

I scream in vain
To anyone who will listen
But everybody's watching TV
Or walking around texting

Am I lost in a world
Where nothing matters?
Am I lost in a world
Where no one cares?

Is anyone paying attention?

Are we lost in a world
Where nothing matters?
Are we lost in a world
Where no one cares?

Zombified in digital quicksand
Nobody talks face to face
Always having phones in hand
Wondering around in cyberspace

I sit alone contemplating
What is missing in this land?
I desperately try to remember
A time before digital quicksand

Are you paying attention?
