Autumn's Wonderland
I sat down to rest beneath that fine old tree.
Today it's aglow with rustic splendor.
A golden leaf came trickling down,
And with it, a shower of several more.

The towering Maple just across the way,
Seemed to know a party would ensue,
And one by one crimson joined the gold.
At Autumn's grand debut...

I drifted off in peaceful slumber,
To a chorus of birdsong lullabies.
When I awoke from restful sleep,
I could scarcely believe my eyes.

The artistry my sleepy eyes beheld
Was nothing less... a wonderland.
Oh, dear Lord, my heart overflows
It's then I truly understand,

Your generosity sets the stage,
The backdrop for each season.
Fully awake, I realize I'm surrounded
By a brilliant coverlet so very pleasing.

We can't escape the winds of winter
Nor can we obliterate the falling snow.
I know that spring and summer will come,
Followed by Autumn's unforgettable glow...
