Legal rights versus Moral
All too often not the same
Or, so it seems to me.

If we morally were bound,
No laws would be needed.
Morals being what they are,
The call for written laws was heeded.

Laws being what they are,
They are always broken.
The punishment mostly
Being barely a mere token.

Will there come a time
When a moral theme is taught?
Not likely in my lifetime.
The wild young must first be caught.

And, so, around we go.
In our search to be ‘free’,
We neglect the need for Moral
