Get Rid Of The Advertisements

To Count The Memories

In these my golden years,
I often journey back
To travel down painted trails,
Only to find windswept dreams,
My dreams
Still linger there...

Autumn's whirlwind of emotions
Scattered like burnished leaves,
Stir those old memories.
Arms that were not there to comfort,
Haunting voices whisper
Into the wind, as tears fall
On weathered blossoms.

Stumbling blocks, stepping stones.
Dreams that drift like tumbleweeds
Across a vast prairie.
Today I journeyed home again
To count the memories.

No frills
