Mother's Love

The first act of love mothers truly live;
Our lips shape words and many pleasures give;
Then words we don't mean or harm, cruelly kiss
Yet words can do well showing love, where fists
By pounding the non loving and others
Won't lead the world to peace, yet love smothers
Need to dis-arm or de-tongue that's been tried.
Women in power who aren't to men's thought tied
And men who learn persuasion not from men
Should be aimed for, and poets mainly women
Are the saviours of our planet or we
Just de-bomb the bombers uselessly.

Most men think lust where women think it's love
That shapes our world and if men were correct
More like the animals we would become
So women of the world where free choice reigns
Lead us men to the future of our race
With grace not warring through their womanhood
But most men are strong and fighting they love
And force their will on others just for fun
And choose women with little will they think
With more lust than thought they think in error
So the future of the world's safe though not
And grace and love are favoured in disguise
So strong men can fight and think they think best -
But know, those who give birth control the earth.

1. The Spirit Of Love

Her love touches the green earth and hence me
With living flame with her wand of wild spells;
Oh she puts aside fame for now to be
Madcap dancing, loving me amid our yells.
Fleet as feet of shadows on the green turf
With music growing wilder, our bodies
Tortured by pleasured agony - thoughts of worth
Of quieter times whispering can't but freeze.
My love touches the green earth and hence her
With a clear whisper through the night's wide sky;
Oh I'd put aside fame for a murmur
With dream kisses to and from my butterfly.
Ten thousand miles apart can't stop poetry
Linking us in spirit romantically.

2. Butterfly Girl

My butterfly girl from Arizona
As the moon and Venus zoom in our lives,
A new sign figures in Australia
Telling of your wondrous downunder vibes.
My butterfly girl, so one with nature,
As one did alight on your hand one day;
Amazed was I as one flew with favour
Close over my blessed head as though to say
Your butterfly girl is thinking of you!
To cement in my mind our link of love,
Thousands upon thousands of butterflies flew,
Confirming our bond being from above.
Can't help imagining being with you
For our spirits entwine, wing soft and true.

3. Little Girl

It is in Autumn years you see my youth,
No daughters their growing up to treasure;
In you I see a little girl who in truth
Delights as falling leaves give Autumn's pleasure.
A rare sweet woman holds her youth as you,
In voice, in form, in thought and in your eyes
But I will treasure one moment, it's true
Long in my mind much as a father sighs!
When first we met as lovers in the moonlight
You danced as a little girl in circles;
My loss, my gain flooded over me that night
Fulfilling something missing - girls are miracles!
Oh is love gaining more than one deserves?
Oh yes! But can't we miss the banquet it serves!

4. Gardening Love

Will you forget the wonderful weeks
Where we gardened love under the night sky's fold,
Burying our past so it no longer speaks,
Covering it with blossoms instead of mould?
Oh the blossoms were many and varied
And as beautiful as words we had spoken
At last face to face not through wires carried;
We had forgotten the past battered and broken.
Yet there are ghosts - losing power every day -
That visit and still try to disrupt us.
Now, the part the two wonderful weeks play
Is to give us strength and keep our love in focus.
Oh is love gaining more than one deserves?
Oh yes! But can't we miss the banquet it serves!

5. Smiling Love

So are you to my poetry as moon to night
Or as light will light all eternity;
And for your beauty I hold acclaim's height
As between dreamers and good dreams nightly.
Poems from you pass into my panting heart
Giving love's sweet, soft, sunshine caresses,
Brightening my Autumn's noon show - a good start
For day and night, night and day warm kisses
With a love of love's soft dreams each morning,
Love smiling as only long love can do;
Our love will not slumber, 'twill be flying
As never before it has flown it's true
Oh thus do I pine for you day by day;
Poetry will still thrill when together we stay.

6. Power Of Poetry

My lovely, oh my lovely, realizing,
That you were in the world four years ago
While I walked down by the river brooding
And saw no butterflies, no sunset glow,
Heard no accent of your voice, just my thought,
Counting not my blessings but my losses;
Imprisoned with out a poetess at court
With the key to free me for life's plusses;
Never to feel you thrill my night or day
With pen, voice or kiss or ever mused
By love, by beauty, by your soft way;
Of not in too much love ever accused.
I am glad poetry inspired our love great
And love led us through poetry to pulsate!

7. You

You're to my heart as the sun is to the Earth,
As mountain rains give new life to rivers;
As the world needs peace, as babies need at birth,
As education to children delivers,
Important as knowledge is to society,
Enabling progress, enabling a good life;
All I have learnt shows my heart quite clearly;
Love like yours the world needs, to lessen strife.
Oh may the world see you are my pleasure;
I wish to soon feast on your lovely sight.
For once I can handle my great treasure
I'll spend the rest of my life in delight!
Oh you are in my heart flowing smoothly;
You're the meaning in my life my lovely!

8. My Gift To You

Oh Flower of all that springs from gentle things
And all that generous nature brings to earth,
Rare beauty; Friend of happy days with wings,
My gift is only token of your worth.
May the sun lengthen your brilliant day
From sweet opening till you lay down your head.
May you look forward to your best delight
As life unfolds rewards for dear things you've said.
May these penned lines give proof that your life sings
And be my gift though rich gems you deserve
Oh Flower of all that springs from gentle things
And all that generous nature brings to serve.
Oh how precious you are to me my dear;
You're the love of my life I guess it's clear.

9. Little Girl, Little Girl

When you read my poetry and comment,
I'm the most loved poet in history,
Oh but you are most precious the moment
When you do your little girl dance for me.
While knowing you means I feel that I am
A man with the biggest spring in his step,
You are most precious to this lucky man
When you do your little girl dance-step.
When we get together some day soon,
Something we have been waiting for so long,
There will be a precious moment each full moon
When you do your little girl dance and song!
A little girl and woman interwoven;
More than likely why you I have chosen.

10. Our Will

The leaf knows not that the near leaf will touch,
Only the wind plans future leaf pleasure
And tonight my sweet love distance is such
That spirit only can in good measure
Wisk our leaves up and down to fall as wished,
Feeling the touching, feeling the movement,
Seeing your colour, seeing mine - we've risked
That such pleasure could delay the moment
If tomorrow gave chance, unless we saw
Being leaves wisked up and down in desire
With hints of touching, movement we'd adore,
Studying colour and form, feeling fire -
Such preparation would cause the wind's will
To be our will, our wicked will, never still.

11. Let Nature Tell

How shall the lover hope to be happy
Whom fate has severed from his love's sweet breast,
Parted by distance longer than should be?
He should listen to the blowing wind's request
And stand under the Golden Elm each day
And let Nature tell of love in her heart.
Falls the frailest leaf - 'Your love's leaf, last will stay.'
The swinging spider's silver line says its part,
'Oh your love is strong, so beautiful.'
The pearl rain drop that runs down the line agrees
And adds - 'Your love's so caring, so gentle.'
'Never oh never!' voice surrounding trees
'Will your true love's heart fail you from afar
Just as winds will blow while our sun's a star.'

12. You Will Be Free

Those parts of you that are hidden from me
As we speak of our day and things most dear
Want nothing and my heart is pleased to see
In poetry your picture 'til you're here.
Your voice, your laugh, your sigh, in your sweet smile
Come ten thousand miles to my doting ear
Which then swoons as I read your loving style
That the whole world can read and even hear!
But once you are here I'll not shut the door,
For the world should feel your spirit of love;
Poets are born and your words we will adore
For you reveal visions from above!
Imagining us together my dear
In poetry is part of Heaven's plan it's clear.

Poetry of love's about persuasion;
Hidden persuasion, for no one admits
Readily to think others' thoughts are best.
The Poet's very foolish telling you this
For technique hints at contriving - faking?
But he knows The Golden Goddess believes.
When the persuader shows weakness, it's then
His or her message becomes most powerful -
Hence death can elevate like nothing else.
Lesser weakness works less yet mocking it
Elevates it unbelievably - but why
Is the Poet so foolish to tell you this?
Persuasion riddles our lives and spreading
This truth arms us against false persuaders.

Is 'Two Hearts Two Cities' the greatest failure of love poetry in English Literature because the two hearts are not together after nearly a decade of writing? No! - in spirit two hearts have never been more cemented together. Order through Zora Knight the illustrator who brilliantly shows the flesh of the spirit. knightly100@hotmail.com
